For this next set Ashley did a quick outfit change and we crossed the street to head down to the beach to get sandy. Shoots like this are fun for me since I don’t do it enough, I mean to be outdoors and on the beach shooting with this beauty in a bikini…. yea I had to take a second that day to appreciate where I was at in my life that day. We had some fun taking pics and the weather wasn’t too sunny due to the clouds. I was fine with that though since the clouds can act like a soft box diffusing the harsh sun light. I liked what we produced from this set a lot. Take a look and maybe you will agree.

Well we have arrived at the final model from my Miami trip with Primitive Apparel. Now most of you know this next beauty especially if you are instagram users, but if for some reason you have not had access to the popular photo sharing app. then meet Ashley Sky. Now Ashley had done some previous work with the brand so it was exciting to have a opportunity to shoot with her for a sequel of sorts but this time being interpreted through my lens. I was excited for this shoot since we were about to get as Miami as one can by going down to Ocean Drive and shooting in the heart of South Beach. Trying to capture that Miami feel with the architecture and the beach we knew what it was we wanted to achieve. And with a model like Ashley it wasn’t hard to get, so for this first set we were shooting in front of some classic looking hotels with the pastel colors and all. It was pretty fun shooting so spontaneous with her and getting what we could get. I really liked this not only for the subject matter but for the fact of being out doors and shooting. There is definitely something to that…..

For this final set of shooting with Claudia out in Miami we just went really minimal given the location. She put on a skin toned one piece and we went with the classic white backdrop. Figured that between her beauty and my lens that should be enough to make for some compelling photos in such a simple setting. I had a lot of fun shooting with Claudia and hope to do so again soon!

For the next set we moved indoors since the sun had set. But I was fortunate that the location I was in had a good amount of existing light inside from the over heads. Claudia had this black laced one piece she wanted to shoot in and given all the white walls in this place I knew it would make for a awesome black and white set. So she changed outfits and I changed lenses and away we went.

Last weekend was a fun celebration of skateboarding, photography, art, friends and 15 years of Mark Gonzales and Adidas sustaining a amazing relationship. It doesn’t feel that long ago that I remember seeing Gonz rocking Adidas as a official foot sponsor before Nike SB came on the scene. This was a night to remind us of all the moments that have happened in this time span. The gallery hosted images from various photographers such as Brian Gaberman and Skin Phillips to name a few but also had a star studded group of attendees in the name of skateboarding from Matt Hensley to Alphonso Rawls to Eric Koston as well as the man himself Mark Gonzales. So I did what I think I do best…I rolled through and shot some photos to capture the evenings events and simply appreciate Mark Gonzales and skateboarding. Thank you Adidas for putting on this event to remind everyone how awesome this has all been and thank you Mickey Reyes for getting me in.
